NEO CONTROLLER TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS
CONSTRUCTION:
Computer designed and labeled circuit board. Wiper bands are nickel plated for durability.
Exclusive routed fiberglass frame is separate from the circuit board electronics. This allows for inexpensive upgrades in the future by simply replacing the circuit board.
Acu-Pivot threaded trigger pin with ball bearings are standard! Ball bearings keep the wiper button firmly in contact with the wiper bands with zero trigger side play even after years of racing.
Floating wiper button with rounded face for reduced friction and perfect contact.
Flexible copper trigger braid will last for years of racing.
Extra long cable allows even tall racers to stand further from the drivers station for the best view of the track.
Parma handles are standard on all Difalco controllers. Our frame is screwed to the rear handle to keep the controller from flexing inside the handle.
Stainless steel hardware will not corrode and will look like new years from now.
Copper alligator clips with color coded insulators.
ELECTRONICS:
Adjustable sensitivity rheostat provides a wide adjustment range to match your car, track and driver characteristics for optimal racing performance.
17 band or 30 band designs provide a very wide sensitivity range for all H.O. cars.
Optional 30 band plug and play resistor network can be used to slow down or speed up the overall sensitivity range. Our custom curved response networks feature 3 different resistor values that plug into miniature sockets on the network circuit board. This allows you to have a custom power curve to match your driving style.
Traction control feature: Adjustable rheostat shifts the sensitivity range and reduces the power on the last band of the controller. This optional feature limits the power available on the last bands of the controller to reduce the chance of overpowering the car and sliding out at the end of a turn.
100 ohm brake rheostat on the DD500, DD501, DD502, DD506, and DD507.
“E”lectronic auto reset brake and power fuses with reverse hookup diode protection for reliability.
High amp transistor design is virtually maintenance free.
Standard dual polarity feature works on both positive and negative wired tracks.
FEATURES TO THINK ABOUT BEFORE YOU BUY ANOTHER CONTROLLER
POWER:
*No inline fuses! We do not put a fuse on our main power lines. Not only does this add resistance to the power circuit it also means you are depending on a cheap fuse block to maintain contact with the fuse. If your ATC mini inline fuse blows your race will be over while you leave the track to replace it. We fuse our transistor outputs and brake line with electronic auto reset fuses that start working as soon as the short circuit is corrected.
*Our controller uses a simple terminal setup to switch between positive and negative polarity. Make sure you have this feature.
MECHANICAL:
*We use a ball bearing trigger with our special threaded trigger pin and adjustable locknut. They claim that their "specially designed pivot rivet provides a snug fit...eliminating the need for aftermarket bearings". I say bull. They use a standard Parma trigger pin. It not only has plenty of side play but as the controller is used the nylon trigger hole will enlarge and the bearings will wear. Our ball bearings are shimmed so there is zero side play. Our adjustable nut means when the nylon trigger eventually compresses a slight turn will eliminate all side play in our controller.
*We use a rounded wiper button with a very small contract area on the bands. This reduces friction and means that the wiper button is only in contact with a couple bands at any one time. They say they have a "flexible wiper arm", but they also use a flat wiper button. We learned a long time ago that it is impossible to keep a flat wiper button in perfect contact with flat wiper bands. The second you put any side pressure on the trigger you lift up the top, bottom, front or back of the wiper button. So instead of contacting the band on the front edge of the button you are now contacting the band in the middle of the wiper button. Now you just put the wrong amount of power to your car.

High amp transistor design is virtually maintenance free.
NEW! Dual transistor design. One transistor handles all the car power and one transistor handles all the coast power. This improvement allows us to use two smaller heatsinks for a much lighter and more compact design.
NEW! Independent coast adjustment. Racers told us they wanted the coast to work independently of our sensitivity adjustment and here it is! Now you can set your coast power and it will not be affected by your sensitivity settings.
NEW! Hi/low coast range switch. On/off switch lets you choose between slow or fast coast speed ranges. Adjust any motor for the perfect coast speed.
NEW! Electronic traction control/choke with on/off relay switch. (DD531/DD532 model only) With the relay "on" you can soften the sensitivity range for twisty sections. This traction control feature will limit the amount of power available at the end of the bands. This will help reduce the chance of overpowering the car and de-slotting at the end of turns. With the relay "off" you can also trim full power on the straight to tame fast cars on short tracks and turn more laps.
REMOTE POWER MODULE:
All Genesis designs feature a thin multi-conductor cable between the handle with our new smaller heatsink/transistor assembly. This results in a light weight and very comfortable handle.
Any heat that is generated is in the power module and not in your hand!
A 40 amp relay and 12 ga. power wires are located only 10" from the track hookup for maximum power transfer to your car. 3 wire hookup is required.
Standard dual polarity feature works on both positive and negative wired tracks.
Copper alligator clips with color coded insulators.
FEATURES TO THINK ABOUT BEFORE YOU BUY ANOTHER CONTROLLER BRAND
POWER:
*For the best performance power comes from a 40 amp relay over bigger 12 ga. wires only 10" from the track hookup. They use long 14 ga wires with crimped instead of soldered clips. Power must then travel almost 7' over the black and white clips to get to your car.
ELECTRONICS:
*Our coast power is activated by the dead band (wide band just before the first band) on the wiper board. As soon our wiper button leaves the first band and contacts the dead band your coast power is activated. This is the correct way to do it. They use the brake post to turn on the coast. This means that your power to the car may be interrupted as the wiper button leaves the first band, travels back and contacts the brake post. This can upset the smooth transition of power to the car.
